Major Gifts Manager

This is an amazing opportunity to join a well-respected social justice charity in the inner west as their Major Gifts Manager. Following a recent wealth scan the charity has identified huge potential to increase their current portfolio of $2 million; this role would be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic major gifts program. Managing one person and with the support of an engaged board and CEO, you will research and identify major donors and build long-lasting relationships to foster significant gifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a strategic approach to grow the existing healthy donor portfolio, including trusts, foundations and PAFs
  • Manage and implement the Major Gifts program to generate funds in line with the society’s growing targets
  • Engage with the board and CEO to make recommendations on the development of the program
  • Utilise the recent wealth scan to research and identify potential supporters
  • Manage existing major donors and engage in regular conversations to solicit regular gifts
  • Communicate with donors on their impact on the society to energise their support
  • Build relationships with multiple potential donors to develop their interests in gifting
  • Develop high value package offerings
  • Prepare donor strategies and proposals and provide feedback and reports to executives
  • Maintain donor information on the database and ensure data confidentiality
  • Oversee networking events and engage with social pages to develop future prospects
  • Support the societies fundraising and mission objectives
  
Skills & Attributes
  
  • Proven experience in securing major gifts
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with key stakeholders
  • Experience developing and maintaining a strategic program in fundraising
  • Ability to forward think and plan efficiently
  • Capacity to analyse, extract data from databases and produce reports
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team.
