Job Description

Junior Financial Advisor
  • Based in the Sydney CBD close to public transport links
  • Permanent position working for a well established and growing firm
  • Competitive salary, with a variable remuneration incentive plan within the first 6-12 months
  • FASEA accreditation necessary
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Junior Financial Advisor you will be responsible for providing client services, support and technical assistance to the Senior Advisors. The role provides support to the Senior Advisors for large, complex clients whilst taking primary responsibility for serving a range of clients

Key duties and responsibilities;
  • Assist the Senior Advisors in preparation for Advice documents, including the writing of complex Statements of Advise (SoAs), for new and existing clients
  • Preparation of cash flow models, performance analysis, portfolio analysis and progress
  • Attend client meetings and contribute to the presentation and participate in discussions
  • Ensure compliance is attended too, including but not limited to; filing notes and other client records
  • Act as a point of contact for client and third party queries, whilst liaising with accountants, Estate Planning lawyers and other professionals
  • Oversee implementation of advice and drive timely conclusion of tasks, work closely with the Administrative team to ensure deadlines are met to support the advise team
  • Provide support to the Senior Advisor for large complex clients
  • Take primary responsibility for serving a range of established clients
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion and desire to work in the Financial Advisory industry, who is keen to develop and grow their skills within this space.

Key skills and qualifications;
  • MUST hold a Bachelor/Masters qualification that is FASEA approved, or be close to completing necessary educational requirements
  • Has several years’ experience working in the financial planning and advice industry, ideally through a financial advice or accounting business
  • Has a working knowledge of investments, superannuation (including SMSF), tax, debt management, financial structure, estate planning, insurance, aged care, compliance and philanthropy
  • Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Writing skills do need to be particularly strong
  • The ability to develop strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and other working professionals
  • Must have strong skills in the Microsoft Suite
  • Must have proven skills and abilities to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be willing to contribute collaboratively and positively to the working team environment
