Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a Finance Manager to join a leading education provider on a 2 year fixed term contract. As the Finance Manager you 
will be responsible for ensuring the organisation is functioning to its best capability. You will oversee and ensure that the forecasting and budgeting is accurate and in line with funding bodies and grants. The Finance Manager will work closely with the COO to ensure all reporting is up to date and accurate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion continuous improvement in financial controls, policies and procedures and operational efficiencies
  • Record, track and reconcile and report on grants and other income received 
  • Provide financial advice to managers within the organisation
  • Prepare financial reports for the executive team, research and other granting bodies
  • Lead the provision of commercial and strategic support to the executive team in relation to financial targets, efficiency, and delivery of key business priorities
Skills & Attributes 
  • Degree qualifications in accounting and preferably certification with relevant professional body 
  • Previous experience as a Management Accountant or Finance Manager within the education sector (higher education preferable)
  • Relevant experience in financial/management accounting activities including general accounting, financial analysis and reporting
  • Computer literacy with a sound knowledge of accounting software
  • Exposure to demonstrated negotiating skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Well-developed forward planning, analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the capacity to simplify reporting where possible
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity and ethical behaviour
  • Strong systems and continuous improvement experience
