Churches of Christ in NSW and ACT is a movement of 79 constituent member churches who are relationally connected in collaboration in Christian ministry and mission.
Fresh Hope acts as a Ministry resource partner to churches and is also the public facing brand architecture for a number of ministry activities, also referred to as Agencies (Fresh Hope Care, Fresh Hope Venues, Fresh Hope Housing and Fresh Hope Engage). The work of these Agencies include residential aged care, retirement living, temporary group accommodation and outdoor education, chaplaincy as well as facilitating community and crisis housing initiatives. Fresh Hope provides resourcing capability to the member churches of Churches of Christ NSW and ACT. This includes support for church health and engagement, governance in relation to the endorsement and ongoing training of Churches of Christ ministers, and administration and oversight of the movement’s Professional Standards Unit. Further, the EMD acts as a key voice and steward of ethos and DNA of the movement in relation to the aforementioned Fresh Hope Agencies.
Through its membership of Australian College of Ministries, Churches of Christ in NSW and ACT also provides access to higher educational training at degree and post graduate degree levels..
The new Executive Ministry Director (EMD) is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership input into the Fresh Hope Mission & Ministry Agency. The EMD also has strategic stewardship obligations to ACOM as a Director on the ACOM Board.
The Executive Ministry Director role is charged with chief advocacy of spiritual ethos for the movement by the over-arching governing body – Conference Executive. In an environment of change, the EMD will embody the ethos of servant leadership and work collaboratively with leaders providing partnership and support for church health in response to each churches local missional mandate.
Faithful to the word of God, prayerful and humble, the EMD will lead with theological clarity and pastoral sensitivity as they deliver on these key result areas:
- Strategic discernment of the Movement's distinct Missionary calling
- Leadership of mission and brand/identity internally and externally
- Commercial Board membership
- Expand the Movement's presence and spiritual leadership capability
- The enhancement of the culture of the Movement's constituent and future churches
- Church governance, pastoral care and safety
- Strategic direction and input into the leadership of Mission and Ministry Agency and the Australian College of Ministries (ACOM), and associated activities
Day to day this role is located at the Fresh Hope offices at Rhodes in Sydney however this role will require frequent travel across NSW and ACT to engage with ministers, leaders and communities of the member churches.
