Job Description

Key Responsibilities 
  • To provide accurate advice by telephone and in writing to members on all aspects of employee relations issues including wages, award conditions, enterprise agreements, income tax, payroll tax, equal employment opportunity, discrimination, workplace health & safety, superannuation, termination processes and workers compensation
  • To represent members in the first instance in disputes with employees and former employees. This involves contact usually by telephone, with arguments in writing, to government inspectors or unions to resolve matters as favourably and efficiently as possible for members
  • Assist in the maintenance and presentation of training courses on employee relations matters
  • Assist the Manager – Employment Relations in researching particular issues and in the preparation
    of submissions, evidence and exhibits
  • Compiling and interpretation of survey data
  • Assist members with set-up, training and operation of AutoPay and ERIS as required
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and prepare minutes of IR meetings
  • Assist in the preparation of articles for the Journal, Industrial News and E-Journal
  • Maintain a good understanding of current employee and industrial relations events and trends
  • Manage the industrial relations filing system including timely establishment of files including unfair
    dismissal and related files
  • Assist as required in the administrative functions for ERIS and AutoPay
  • Travel intrastate and interstate as required to service members
  • Other duties as directed

Must Have
  • Applicable Human Resource or Employment Relations Qualification / background or experience.
  • Unrestricted Drivers Licence
  • Knowledge of the Fair Work Act
