Direct Marketing & Community Fundraising Manager

A fantastic opportunity to join an inspiring national organisation as the Direct Marketing & Community Fundraising Manager. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a team of 3 to develop and implement the Direct Marketing strategy.

About the role

As the Direct Marketing & Community Fundraising Manager you are responsible for driving the retention and acquisition strategies. In your role you will deliver acquisition growth as a result of significant organisational investment in Direct Marketing and will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of a centralized donation processing function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop the DM strategy across acquisition and retention
  • Develop and deliver annual implementation plans for direct mail, telemarketing, door to door, and other channels 
  • Develop strategic plans for donor acquisition, retention, engagement and follow up strategies
  • Manage existing and new direct marketing campaigns and activities, including coordinating external relationships with fundraising agencies, design agencies, and print houses
  • Identify and investigate new direct marketing channels for monthly and one-off individual giving
  • Develop high-quality briefs and coordinate all campaigns
  • Develop, implement and maintain community fundraising retention & acquisition strategies to increase the number of supporters and their levels of giving
  • Deliver robust data analysis and insights to improve return on investment and key supporter metrics 
  • Establish centralized donations/payment processing function
  • Manage the performance of staff against set objectives and KPIs
Skills & Attributes
  • Proven background in leading a Direct Marketing program and strategy
  • Ability to create and lead on direct marketing campaigns from inception to implementation especially in Direct Mail, Regular Giving and Telemarketing
  • Strategic experience across acquisition and retention
  • Advanced analytical ability and experience in data and marketing analytics, evaluation and reporting
  • Experience in developing strategies to acquire new supporters across revenue streams (i.e. community fundraising)
  • Ability to line manage a small team
