Job Description
As the Communications Officer for a distinguished school in Sydney’s Inner-west, you will take ownership of the school newsletter, social media channels, website, whilst interviewing students and academics for content. You will have a creative flare and passion for writing and successfully delivering strong storytelling aligned with the schools' core values. Working within the Marketing team, you will connect current and future students, parents and alumni with the schools' engagements.
Key responsibilities and duties;
- Reporting to the marketing manager and assisting with roughly 14 articles for the fortnightly newsletter
- Interviewing students and/or teachers around current events within the school to create content
- Taking ownership of the social media platforms and updating them weekly
- Ensure all communications aligns with the schools' core values and branding
- Support the team with photography requirements at school events when needed
- Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure the intranet is kept current and relevant
- Updating the school community of significant information via the App and all social media platforms, within a timely manner
Skills, attributes and experience;
- A candidate with creative flair, excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with creating content for newsletters and running social media platforms
- Prove ability to engage and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders of all levels
- A highly organised individual that meets deadlines with minimal supervision
- Tertiary Qualifications in Communications or Journalism (preferable)
