The Business
Crystal Castle & Shambhala Gardens is an iconic tourist attraction in the Byron Bay hinterland.  It is home to the biggest and most beautiful crystals in the world. Over the past three decades Crystal Castle has grown and developed from a family business into a multiple award-winning destination. This successful business uses the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) and is now in a strong recovery phase post-covid.

The Role
This is a newly created role and will report to the Founder and CEO. The Integrator/Chief Operating Officer (COO) will join a well-functioning and creative leadership team. You will oversee the Marketing, Sales, Accounts & compliance, Gardens & Maintenance & Warehouse & Stock teams. This role requires collaboration with the CEO to translate ideas into functional plans for the company.

As COO, you will lead the development and implementation of Crystal Castle’s business plan. You will be responsible for all business operations having an instinctive ability to recognise, retain and respect talent within the organisation.

You will be an outstanding project manager, implementing process improvements and managing competing priorities.

Although a strategic role, where you will be required to specify, strategize and define opportunities you will also be expected to jump in and help when needed, to make sure the business operations run smoothly.

  • Oversee daily operations making sure any issues are resolved promptly
  • Execute the business plan to achieve/exceed established P&L objectives
  • Create comprehensive goals to promote performance and growth strategies
  • Effectively resolve any issues/conflict with a practical, solution focused approach
  • Identify opportunities across the business to increase profitability and improve efficiency
  • Attract, retain, lead and coach a high-performing team
  • Lead, manage and hold direct reports accountable to targets that are business critical
  • Cultivate and manage healthy relationships with external agencies and suppliers
  • Consistently demonstrate a passion for values alignment, focus, simplicity and clarity across the business
Your Skills & Attributes
  • Proven results as a COO, General Manager or similar
  • Experience leading & building high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated success transitioning strategic level vision into day to day operations
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operations metrics
  • A demonstrated execution mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience within the tourism sector (preferred)
  • Previous experience working within an EOS company (preferred)
  • Ability to maintain a positive, collegial approach under pressure
  • Advanced degree, MBA or similar advantageous
  • Current NSW driving licence
