CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER | Sutherland Shire Family Services

Sutherland Shire Family Services (SSFS) Inc. is a leading community-based, not-for-profit organisation whose core work is focused on providing services that lead to safety and well-being for children, young people and families impacted by disadvantage, domestic violence and trauma in the Sutherland Shire and St. George regions.
  
SSFS has a reputation for collaboration and innovation and the new CEO will have an appetite for risk and the desire to leverage current initiatives and identify new opportunities with key partners and stakeholders.
  
Key responsibilities:
  • Implement and consistently review the key objectives of the Strategic Plan and report the progress of the business objectives to the Board
  • Develop initiatives and partnerships that build the profile and promote advancement of the organisation
  • Provide adaptive leadership, coaching and development to and for managers and staff of SSFS
  • To maintain and further develop quality, evidence-based support services for children, youth and families, consistent with SSFS core values
  • Stewardship of the people, financial and intellectual resources of SSFS
  • Be the official spokesperson for SSFS and its constituent members, other stakeholders and the community.
To be successful in this role you will need to meet demonstrated criteria in:
  • Vast experience in the social services sector coupled with degree level in the social sciences and/or business disciplines
  • Prior senior leadership experience in a family support or community services sector, ideally reporting to a Board
  • Demonstrated capability in strategic planning, business management and financial reporting
  • Ability to lobby, influence and persuade on behalf of the organisation, specifically in family support
  • Ability to undertake public speaking with confidence in a range of forums
  • Capacity to work autonomously as well as the ability to lead and work constructively in a team environment
Other Requirements
  • Travel to meetings and forums locally and interstate, as necessary
  • Australian Citizenship or Residency
  • Current New South Wales Driver’s licence
  • The position is subject to a NSW Police Check
  • Working with children check
