The Organisation

The Internet Association of Australia Inc (IAA) is a member-based association representing the Internet community of carriers, service providers, content providers, enterprises and industry professionals.

The internet industry has never been more essential during the challenging times of Covid-19. 

The IIA provides resources, professional development and technical services including IX-Australia (AIX) the longest running and lowest cost Internet Exchange in Australia.

The Role

The CEO is the public face of IAA, supporting and representing the rights and interests of their members, industry and stakeholders. The role requires a hands-on leader to coordinate and implement IAA’s strategic and operational plans, providing executive support to the Board of Directors whilst leading a remote team based across Australia.
This role has a strong focus on increasing the value proposition and portfolio of member services whilst building strong relationships with government and developing policy to support the industry.

The Person

You will demonstrate strong relationship building skills with the ability to connect a diverse range of key stakeholders, including government, regulators, corporate and community sectors. As the CEO you must be a big strategic thinker, who can execute and deliver with the confidence to speak publicly.

  • Organisational leadership
  • Sector improvement

  • Executive support to BOD and sub-committees
Your success profile will include:
  • Strong relationship building skills and expertise in working with key government, corporate and community sector organisations
  • Proven track record in leadership and operational management
  • Effective media and public speaking skills to grow the “voice” of IAA while promoting rights and interests of members, the internet industry, stakeholders
  • Sound research, policy development and advocacy skills
  • Proven skills gained within an association or similar organisation ideally with an understanding of the Internet Industry
