  • Full-time, permanent role, based in the Inner West close to public transport and links
  • Energetic & supportive team
  • $65,000 - $70,000 + Super
  • 38 weeks during term time (plus 6 weeks negotiated in advance outside of this) 8 weeks leave (during school holidays)

About the role:
Our client is based in Sydney’s Inner-West and is currently seeking an experienced Administrator to join their music department. As the Administrator, you would be the face of the department for all students, parents and academic staff. You would be an individual with a hands-on positive attitude and a customer-orientated approach. 

  • Provide high-level administrative support to staff and students 
  • Assisting with the organisation of over 30 contractors, coordinating rooms, timesheets etc
  • Being the first point of contact for student and parents for any issues that may arise
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of how the department operates and be able to provide accurate information to the academic staff
  • Support in the coordination of internal events, awards and productions
  • Work within a passionate and energetic team of 7 staff members, reporting to the Director of Music
  • Develop and maintain systems for ongoing file management 

The ideal candidate is an experienced administrator who has a passion for the arts and may have worked within the education sector previously.  This person will be highly process-driven and is able to work in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate:
  • Highly developed technology skills: Microsoft suite, Engage system and document sharing, must also be confident on both a PC and MAC and be able to troubleshoot on systems
  • Must have proven administration skills alongside organisational/event coordination skills
  • Prior experience working in the education sector with a passion for the arts (desirable)
  • Extensive experience in general office procedures, with high attention to detail, accuracy and literacy skills
  • A well-developed capacity to manage the complexity and diversity of the role, with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality and privacy and the ability to manage expectations of others within the business
  • Proven ability to “manage up” including checking in with work, showing initiative, ability to question and gather all information to perform tasks
  • Experience providing support to a manager including minute taking, report writing, letter writing and diary management
